I let emotions guide my painting process. At first, I feel an exhilarating freedom, an energy that flows and leads me into a deep emotional space. In that moment I feel an immediate connection with my painting. It feels like the love for my painting becomes a love for myself, reigniting a passion within me. Then I feel the need to go into form and light, which is when I start the process of focusing on the details of my painting. Form translates into subject matter, architecture or figurative images, and light represents a warm place to wonder about the stories behind the glow. Towards the end of the process, I feel inspired to create radiant and atmospheric lights, lines, sometimes floating hearts, and other geometric shapes to create movement that travels throughout my painting.
